An Eventful ‘Mela’

The Oshwal Association of the UK organised a large ‘mela’ on Sunday, 24th July with a funfair, trade stalls, vegan food and games galore, it was an eventful day out for all who attended.

An estimated 6000 people attended the event, with many coming in to see us at the colourful JAINpedia stall. Raising awareness of the commendable project was one of our objectives, and achieved substantially, with hundreds signing up for the future JAINpedia e-newsletter.

V&A Inside Outing Event enjoyed thoroughly by participants

On Thursday 16th June a group of Victoria & Albert Museum visitors; some with a basic knowledge about Jainism, who had never visited the V&A before; studied Jain manuscripts at the V&A and visited the Shikharbandhi Temple at the Oshwal Centre in Potters bar. (more…)

Dr Rowan Williams learns about Jainpedia

The Institute of Jainology was very fortunate to host the Archbishop of Canterbury at the Jain temple in Potters Bar.  The event took place on Friday 7th May and was organised jointly with the Oshwal Association of the UK.
